Tour Introduction

During World War 2, more than six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust and to this day it is still defined as one of the most terrible and defining aspects of the Second World War. On this tour we look at some of the key aspects of the Holocaust in Poland and we see how the Polish people were affected by the German occupation of their country. Whilst in the country, we visit pay a visit to Oskar Schindler’s Factory in Kraków and we also take an in depth look at the Kraków Ghetto. We then journey to the harrowing Auschwitz Concentration Camp, where we have a guided tour of the sites many museums and exhibitions. Back in Kraków, we take a tour of the Museum of Polish Home Forces and the British Commonwealth Cemetery.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Fly to Kraków and transfer to our hotel in Kraków for four nights.

Day 2 - Kraków

We start our tour in Kraków having an in-depth look at the Kraków Ghetto seeing the ‘Chairs’ Memorial and the buildings where Jewish families lived. After lunch you will visit the Oskar Schindler Factory; immortalised in the film Schindler’s List, Oskar worked tirelessly to save as many of the city’s Jews as he could. The factory site is now a museum which helps explain the war in Poland as well as the Holocaust.

Day 3 - Auschwitz

Today we travel to Auschwitz, the most notorious and deadly of the Concentration Camps in German occupied Poland. We spend time in Auschwitz where the workers were detained, seeing the many museum items and exhibitions. We then walk to the massive Auschwitz-Birkenau site, where the huge scale and human cost of the Holocaust is apparent. A moving day studying one of the most iconic locations connected to the Holocaust.

Day 4 - Plaszów Concentration Camp, Kraków War Cemetery

We start at the War Cemetery in Kraków where there is a large British plot, plus graves from the German Army, Polish Forces and Soviet Forces. We then visit the site of Plaszów Concentration Camp, the closest camp to Kraków. In the afternoon you have free time to explore central Kraków.

Day 5

Return transfer to Kraków airport for your return flight to the UK.
