Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service and we continue towards Newcastle for our overnight crossing to the Netherlands.

We have an included meal package on board, featuring an extensive buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. Afterwards, enjoy the other facilities on board including bars and live entertainment.

Day 2 - Overloon – Siegfried Line

We depart the ferry and travel to the Overloon War Museum, a massive WW2 museum with tanks and vehicles, and have an included visit and lunch.

We then continue to the Netherlands American Cemetery, looking at the stories of some of the ‘Band of Brothers’ and one of the ‘Monuments Men’.

We end the day on the Siegfried Line, seeing original concrete defences – Dragon’s Teeth – which were part of the German Westwall where Allied units broke through in September 1944. We then continue to our hotel in Belgium for two nights.

Day 3 - The Battle of the Bulge

Today we look at the German Offensive in the Ardennes in December 1944, starting where an SS Battlegroup fought its way through the American lines and at Malmedy carried out a massacre of US troops, seeing the Malmedy Memorial.

We follow the route of this Battlegroup into La Gleize, seeing a rare King Tiger tank before looking at the fighting at Parker’s Crossroads. We then visit a Panther Tank at Houffalize before going into central Bastogne for the lunchtime period.

Later, we visit the 101st Airborne Museum and then see where Airborne troops defended Bastogne, looking at the fighting around Foy and Recogne.

Day 4 - Ardennes & Eindhoven

We begin at the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery where many of the dead from the Battle of the Bulge are buried and commemorated. Later we visit the excellent Remember 39-45 Museum, seeing an original Sherman tank, before heading to the Netherlands, where we have time for lunch and a visit to where the 101st Airborne jumped into Operation Market Garden near Eindhoven in September 1944.

We then continue to Ijmuiden for our return overnight crossing to the UK. We have an included meal package on board, including extensive buffets for breakfast and dinner.
