Before we join the Armistice Day commemorations at Thiepval Memorial on the 11th of November, we spend a day exploring the battlefields sites of the Somme. From Serre, to Gommecourt. Nov 10 & 11 - The Somme

In the company of our specialist guide we explore the Somme battlefields and attend the Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Thiepval Memorial, organised by the Royal British Legion on November 11th. We also visit some key Somme sites on this day, including the battlefield at Serre and Gommecourt. We will also have a day visiting locations on the Somme including the Historial Museum at Peronne, Delville Wood, Lochnagar Crater, and the preserved trenches in the Newfoundland Park.

Thiepval Memorial

Thiepval Memorial is undergoing major restoration work in 2021. We will still be visiting Thiepval Memorial during your tour but various parts of the structure will be inaccessible. Visitors wishing to see relatives’ names, will be able view the relevant panels via a new digital exhibition. The exhibition will also feature some of the casualties commemorated and the wider work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

On most tours if you’d prefer to join your tour coach at Stop 24 services, you can park your car in the car park which is accredited by the Park Mark safer parking scheme and is monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. Payment for the parking is made on arrival using the self-service machines.
