We attend the annual Battle of Bosworth commemorations and also head to Leicester Cathedral to see his tomb and memorial, all making for a captivating tour as we examine this period of history.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Meet at the Bosworth Hall Hotel, Market Bosworth by 14:00. Afternoon visit to Kirby Muxloe, the residence of William Lord Hastings, who was executed for treason by Richard III in 1483. Return to hotel for introductory lecture.

Day 2 - Fotheringay & Leicester

We begin today with a visit to Fotheringhay, the birthplace of Richard III. Here we see the Church, and then continue to Leicester to explore the Richard III Visitors' Centre (included), located on the site where the King’s remains were discovered including 'Reinternment of the King' talk. We also have an included lunch in Leicester. We end the day at Sutton Cheney Church.

Day 3 - Battle of Bosworth

Today we start at Dadlington Church, close to the site of the battlefield, and then attend the main Battle Re-enactment event with re-enactments and static displays, also seeing the Bosworth Battlefield Centre (included). Before our return to the Hotel, we also see some nearby sites connected with the battle including Crown Hill.

Join your tour coach at the interchange.

On most tours if you’d prefer to join your tour coach at Stop 24 services, you can park your car in the car park which is accredited by the Park Mark safer parking scheme and is monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. Payment for the parking is made on arrival using the self-service machines.
