Tour Introduction

Witness one of the greatest shows on Earth and explore some of Scotland’s stunning countryside on this wonderful coach holiday. Our tour begins with a scenic drive around the beautiful Trossachs before continuing to Stirling. It’s then on to Edinburgh, where you’re free to explore the capital before attending the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, a 90-minute spectacle of innovative production, heart-stopping sound and fantastic fireworks. And it doesn’t end there, before heading home we also visit Loch Lomond and the famous Gretna Green.

Day 1

Local departure by coach, then to Scotland, arriving at our hotel this evening for a four-night stay.

Day 2 - Stirling & the Trossachs

Today’s included excursion takes you through the forested hills, stunning mountains and beautiful lochs of the Trossachs to the town of Stirling, the ancient capital of Scotland. Here the streets of the Old Town all wind upwards towards the castle. From the castle you can admire the surrounding landscape, known as ‘Braveheart Country’, following Hollywood’s interpretation of the life of William Wallace, Scotland’s first freedom fighter.

Day 3 - The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

After a leisurely morning we travel to Edinburgh, one of Europe’s great capital cities. Walk the Royal Mile, which links Castle Hill (the city’s oldest street), the Lawnmarket, High street and Cannongate and runs through the heart of the Old Town. Take time to discover the atmospheric ‘closes’ or alleys running rib-like off the backbone of the Mile. There is also a good choice of pubs, restaurants and teashops – so it’s easy to find refreshments while exploring.

In the evening, we take our seats for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (admission included). The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo draws together a host of creative talent from four continents. With innovative production, heart-stopping sound, imaginative graphics, state-of-the-art lighting and specially commissioned fireworks, this is a 90-minute show not to be missed.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Castlehill, the old-cobbled approach to the Esplanade, is on a steep incline, and consequently, may prove difficult for some. In addition, there is a short walk uphill from the entrance of the arena to the seats. This includes a minimum of 5 steps to reach the front row seats followed by 3 more steps per row to the seating higher up in the stands.

You will stay for four nights in a 3-star hotel such as the Riverside Lodge in Irvine, the Carlton in Prestwick, the Radstone in Larkhall, Airth Castle in Airth, the Normandy in Renfrew, the Doubletree Westerwood in Cumbernauld or similar.

All hotels have a restaurant and bar.

Join your tour coach at the interchange.

On most tours if you’d prefer to join your tour coach at Stop 24 services, you can park your car in the car park which is accredited by the Park Mark safer parking scheme and is monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV. Payment for the parking is made on arrival using the self-service machines.

Excludes tours to Ireland and the U.K. and tours travelling via Brittany Ferries.
